The Japan Cosmetic Industry Association (JCIA), chaired by Masahiko Uotani, CEO of Shiseido, was established on April 1, 2023, on account of the combination of the Japan Cosmetic Industry Federation, the Tokyo Cosmetic Industry Association, the Chubu Cosmetic Industry Association, and the West Japan Cosmetic Industry Association. The JCIA goals to advertise the sound growth of the beauty business in Japan.
The goal of building the JCIA is to reorganize and strengthen the business associations below an “All Japan” system. In a post-pandemic society, the JCIA will boldly sort out new challenges going through the beauty business and actively promote the transformation of the business for a brand new period. Key actions embrace:
- Enhancing Japan’s beauty business’s world competitiveness by bettering the standard and reliability of cosmetics, understanding market and life-style modifications, monitoring abroad regulatory traits by exchanges with abroad business associations, and interesting with regulatory authorities.
