Karnataka govt to offer consuming water to 4.64 lakh homes in Vijayapura: CM Bommai

Vijayapura (Karnataka) [India], March 22 (ANI): Karnataka authorities has set a goal of offering consuming water to 4.64 lakh households in Vijayapura district and has already given the connection to 2.87 lakh homes, mentioned Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Tuesday.

Speaking after inaugurating a slew of improvement works and distribution of advantages beneath numerous schemes in Nalatwada, CM Bommai mentioned beneath the Jal Jeevan Mission scheme, piped water has been supplied to 12 crore homes within the nation of which 40 lakh homes in Karnataka within the final three years.

Another 25 lakh homes might be given consuming water within the pipe subsequent 12 months. Under the Jaladhare scheme, Rs 3,000 crore has been supplied to produce water in city areas. The authorities goals to offer consuming water to all of the areas within the coming days, the Chief Minister mentioned.

He mentioned the works value Rs 1,600 crore had been inaugurated and the inspiration stone for numerous schemes was laid. Nine irrigation initiatives together with the carry irrigation schemes of Chimmalagi, Mulwad, Gutti Basavanna, and Koppal had been sped up.

CM Bommai mentioned the incumbent authorities is pro-farmer and disbursed Rs 16,000 crore amongst 54 lakh farmers of which Rs 975 crore had been distributed in Mudhol taluk. Several schemes for the uplift of farmers, girls, youth and dealing courses have been launched. The authorities is dedicated to the completion of all of the irrigation initiatives in Mudhol. The basis stone for the Revanasiddeshwara Lift Irrigation scheme has been laid to utilize its share of water, he mentioned.

The Kittur Development Board had been constituted for the general improvement of North Karnataka. The authorities will launch funds to the board for the completion of all of the pending irrigation initiatives. “We will not rest till 5 lakh hectares of land are irrigated in all the Assembly constituencies in the district,” added Bommai.

Assembly polls in Karnataka are scheduled within the coming months. (ANI)
