KYOTO –
A brand new massive ferry linking Maizuru in Kyoto Prefecture with Otaru in Hokkaido has been unveiled forward of its first voyage on September 1, providing spacious passenger amenities and a journey time of about 21 hours.
Shin Nihonkai Ferry’s Hamanasu measures 199 meters in size and weighs about 14,000 tons.
The vessel incorporates a three-story atrium at its entrance and a two-story salon providing panoramic views of the ocean, creating an open and spacious inside.
Its restaurant will serve menus that includes seasonal components related to the ports alongside the route.
Passengers also can use a display room that includes projection-mapping expertise designed to offer an immersive visible expertise.
The Hamanasu is scheduled to start service between Maizuru and Otaru on September 1.
