Record-breaking rainfall continued throughout the Hokuriku area on Saturday, with Himi City in Toyama Prefecture receiving greater than 500 millimeters over 72 hours, as authorities warned of additional heavy rain, landslides and river flooding via August 30.
Emergency heavy rain warnings have been issued in components of Hokuriku throughout the extended downpours.
A stationary autumn rain entrance introduced rain throughout a large space from the Kanto area to western Honshu from the morning of August 29.
Hokuriku has skilled distinctive rainfall since August 27, with Himi recording 516 millimeters over the 72-hour interval, far surpassing the earlier report since observations started.
Localized heavy rain is anticipated to proceed via August 30, with as much as 120 millimeters forecast over 24 hours in each Toyama and Ishikawa prefectures.
The extended rainfall has already loosened the bottom in areas hit by the report downpours, rising the hazard of landslides.
Heavy rain might persist via the night of August 30, and authorities are urging residents to stay on excessive alert for landslides and overflowing rivers.
