Former skilled tennis participant Rika Hiraki, who received the combined doubles title on the 1997 French Open, has been arrested on suspicion of involvement in a romance rip-off.
Hiraki, 54, is suspected of conspiring with others 4 years in the past to defraud a girl in Kagoshima Prefecture of 300,000 yen, in accordance with Sukumo Police Station.
The lady was contacted by way of social media by a person posing as a health care provider working at a hospital in Paris. He allegedly advised her, “I have named you as the recipient of compensation money for my late wife,” and instructed her to switch 300,000 yen into a chosen checking account.
Police stated the account was registered in Hiraki’s identify.
