Commercial Whaling Opens in Okhotsk Sea

HOKKAIDO, Apr 04 (News On Japan) –
Commercial whaling for the season has opened, with two minke whales landed at Nemuro Port in Hokkaido, because the Sea of Okhotsk season started on April 1st with two small vessels from fishing cooperatives in Wakayama and Chiba prefectures every touchdown one whale.

Both whales have been minke whales, together with one feminine measuring 8.2 meters in size and weighing 5.8 tons.

The two whales have been described as giant and wealthy in fats, and have been transported to Kushiro City the place they have been processed and put up for public sale.

For this season, industrial whaling operations within the Sea of Okhotsk goal to catch a complete of 33 minke whales.
