A big-scale show of conventional hina dolls, organized to resemble a Buddhist mandala and numbering about 4,500 in whole, has gone on public view at Tsubosaka Temple in Takatori Town, Nara Prefecture.
The exhibition, titled the Great Hina Mandala, options dolls donated from throughout Japan and displayed across the temple’s principal picture of the Eleven-Faced Thousand-Armed Kannon, evoking the imagery of a mandala. The temple holds the occasion yearly throughout this season, showcasing hina dolls which have been supplied by individuals nationwide.
A mandala is a symbolic design, historically round, that represents the universe and non secular order in Buddhist and Hindu traditions.
