KYUSHU, Oct 25 (News On Japan) –
A subsidiary of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC), a number one chipmaker, signed a location settlement with Kikuyo Town in Kumamoto Prefecture on October twenty fourth for the development of its second manufacturing unit in Japan.
The new facility will produce higher-performance semiconductors than these made at its first plant—TSMC’s first manufacturing web site in Japan—and can provide chips for a variety of purposes together with synthetic intelligence (AI), autonomous driving, and telecommunications gear.
Following the settlement, the Kumamoto Prefectural Government plans to offer as much as 1.5 billion yen in subsidies to help the undertaking.
