Okinawa Court Orders Families To Pay For Police Station Damaged In Riot

The Naha District Court’s Okinawa department has ordered a bunch of former youths and their dad and mom to pay greater than 4 million yen in damages to Okinawa Prefecture over a riot that occurred three years in the past when a crowd surrounded the Okinawa Police Station and destroyed automobiles and different property.

The case stemmed from an incident in January 2022, when a number of youths surrounded the police station, throwing stones and empty bottles and damaging the constructing and police automobiles. The prefecture filed a lawsuit looking for a complete of 4.04 million yen in compensation from the perpetrators and their guardians.

On October third, the Naha District Court Okinawa department totally accepted the prefecture’s declare, ordering 12 youths concerned within the assault and 20 dad and mom who had uncared for their supervisory duties to pay the total quantity.
