Four girls have been arrested by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police for allegedly participating in prostitution solicitation, generally known as “tachinbo” or road soliciting, close to Okubo Park in Shinjuku’s Kabukicho district, focusing on international vacationers.
The suspects, together with 20-year-old Miyu Aoyagi, have been taken into custody on suspicion of violating the Anti-Prostitution Law. According to investigators, the group waited on the streets to solicit prospects for prostitution.
To evade undercover officers, the ladies particularly focused international vacationers. Aoyagi is believed to have earned roughly 110 million yen over the previous two years by these actions.
Among these arrested was 24-year-old Yumeka Uchiyama, who was captured on video by JNN moments earlier than her arrest. After receiving money from a person, she positioned it into her bag earlier than disappearing into the nightlife district with him.
