TOKYO, eighth July, 2025 (WAM) — The Bank of Japan introduced on Tuesday that total financial institution lending in Japan rose by 2.8 p.c year-on-year (YoY) in June, reaching 639.746 trillion yen.
That beat forecasts for a rise of two.3 p.c and was greater than the two.4 p.c progress recorded in May.
Excluding trusts, lending jumped an annual 3.0 p.c to 561.432 trillion yen, whereas lending from trusts climbed 1.3 p.c on 12 months to 78.314 trillion yen.
Lending from international banks surged 26.2 p.c on 12 months to five.730 trillion yen, accelerating from 25.7 p.c within the earlier month.
For the second quarter of 2025, total lending was up 2.5 p.c on 12 months.
