Economic Outlook for Hokuriku, Tokai Regions Upgraded in BOJ Report

TOKYO, Oct 08 (News On Japan) –
The Bank of Japan (BOJ) launched its October Regional Economic Report, referred to as the “Sakura Report,” asserting an upward revision of the financial outlook for 2 of the nation’s 9 areas, Hokuriku and Tokai.

The BOJ cited the progress of reconstruction in Hokuriku following the Noto Peninsula earthquake, although it additionally expressed warning in regards to the potential affect of record-breaking rainfall in September.

For the Tokai area, the BOJ attributed the upgraded evaluation to a restoration in manufacturing by main vehicle producers, as the results of certification irregularities have subsided. The financial outlook for the remaining seven areas was left unchanged.
