IBARAKI, Sep 19 (News On Japan) –
A hearth broke out at a shrine in Ami-machi, Ibaraki Prefecture, burning a sacred tree over 500 years previous, with police investigating the trigger as a lightning strike.
A person residing close by referred to as 119 at round 4:45 pm on Wednesday to report that “smoke was coming out of the tree” within the grounds of Kashima Shrine in Ami-machi.
According to police and different sources, the sacred tree was on hearth, however nobody was injured.
The sacred tree, designated as a pure monument, is a cedar tree over 500 years previous, with one other tree rising within the hole of the trunk.
At the time, there was heavy rain and thunder across the web site, and police are investigating the reason for the hearth as a lightning strike.
