TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a member of a felony syndicate over the alleged extortion of a store in Shibuya Ward that sells marijuana-related merchandise.
Earlier this month, Jun Kawai, a 41-year-old member of the Yamaguchi-gumi, and one other unnamed suspect allegedly tried to gather mikajimeryo, or safety cash from an worker that sells cookies and different merchandise containing the cannabis-derived ingredient CBD.
Police didn’t reveal whether or not the suspects admit to the allegations.
CBD shouldn’t be unlawful in Japan. However, the suspects insinuated that the enterprise was questionable, police mentioned.
In finishing up the alleged crime, the 2 suspects tried to begin a feud. “There will be trouble if you did whatever you wanted in our territory,” one among them reportedly mentioned. “You’re doing something that’s almost like evading the law.”
