In the Republic of Bashkortostan in central Russia, a distinguished native activist has been sentenced to jail, and his supporters have held a sequence of large-scale demonstrations to protest towards this sentence, with some being detained.
Large-scale demonstrations have been uncommon in Russia for the reason that navy invasion of Ukraine, and the federal government is nervous about sustaining home stability forward of a presidential election in March.
