In Noda Village, Iwate Prefecture, they participate in a particular custom.

The ‘Namomi,’ sporting demon masks, went from home to deal with, elevating their voices in a New Year’s custom occasion praying for the wholesome progress of youngsters and the protection of households.

After dropping all their masks and costumes to the tsunami attributable to the East Japan Earthquake, they consulted with locals from Akita Prefecture, dwelling to the same ‘Namahage’ custom, who agreed to assist.
