Vocanic Eruption on Suwanosejima Raises Alert

KAGOSHIMA, Jan 14 (News On Japan) –
An eruption from the Ontake crater on the distant Japanese island of Suwanosejima, south west of Kagoshima, at 0:22 AM on Sunday morning, despatched volcanic particles flying multiple kilometer from the middle.

Japan’s Meteorological Agency has issued a stage 3 volcanic alert, which prohibits entry onto the mountain.

It is beneficial to train warning inside a 2-kilometer perimeter surrounding the Ontake crater, owing to the potential for big ballistic rocks being dispersed following the eruption.

On the downwind facet, consideration is required not just for volcanic ash but in addition for the opportunity of small ballistic projectiles being carried by the wind.

There have been no stories of injury thus far, in line with authorities authorities.
