The election for the mayor of Tokyo’s Koto Ward was introduced on the third as a result of resignation of the ward’s mayor, and thus far 5 new candidates have run. The mayor of the ward was investigated by his associates on suspicion of violating the Public Offices Election Act, resulting in him resigning about six months after taking workplace, and it’s anticipated that there might be a debate over the way to rebuild the ward’s administration.
