Indian ladies’s hockey staff departs for Asian Hockey 5s World Cup qualifier

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], August 23 (ANI): The Indian ladies’s hockey staff departed for Oman to participate within the Women’s Asian Hockey 5s World Cup Qualifier on Wednesday.

The match will likely be held from August 25 to twenty-eight in Salalah, Oman.

India have been positioned within the elite pool together with Japan, Malaysia, and Thailand. While the second, challengers pool, consists of Hong Kong China, Chinese Taipei, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Iran, and Oman.

The squad heading to Salalah will likely be led by staff captain Navjot Kaur and Jyoti would be the vice-captain.

The staff consists of goalkeeper Bansari Solanki. In the defence, Akshata Abaso Dhekale, Mahima Chaudhary, and Sonia Devi Kshetrimayum will likely be in motion. Captain Navjot Kaur and Ajmina Kujur will maintain the midfield space, whereas Mariana Kujur, Jyoti, and Dipi Monika Toppo will likely be enjoying as forwards.

India will compete towards their elite counterparts in a bid to complete within the prime two spots of their pool and qualify for the semifinals, beginning with their conflict towards Malaysia on August 25. Followed by contests with Japan on August 26 and Thailand on 27.

“We cannot wait to get on with the tournament. A lot of effort has gone into the preparation for the Women’s Asian Hockey 5s World Cup Qualifier and the aim is to play well throughout the tournament and hopefully reap the benefits of our hard work by winning the Tournament,” Indian ladies’s hockey staff coach Soundarya Yendala expressed her ideas forward of the match as quoted by Hockey India. Team captain Navjot Kaur was bullish in regards to the possibilities of India profitable the Women’s Asian Hockey 5s World Cup Qualifier.

“We have to face some strong teams in our pool but with the amount of work that we have put in to be ready for this tournament I am confident that we will put our best foot forward and return home, medals in hand, “she signed off saying. (ANI)
