On the morning of the twenty first, 87 members of the bipartisan group of parliamentarians visited Yasukuni Shrine collectively along with the annual spring competition of Yasukuni Shrine.

The bipartisan group of parliamentarians, “Members of the Diet to Visit Yasukuni Shrine Together,” visits Yasukuni Shrine yearly on the annual festivals in spring and autumn, and on August 15, the day the struggle ended.

Around 8:00 am on the twenty first, a complete of 87 folks visited the shrine, together with LDP Election Committee Chairman Moriyama, in addition to Diet members from the LDP, the Constitutional Democratic Party, and the Japan Restoration Party.

Of these, 11 State Ministers and Parliamentary Vice-Ministers from the Kishida Cabinet, together with State Minister for Digital Technology Ogushi, State Minister for Reconstruction Kojima, and Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Finance Miyamoto, visited the shrine.

After visiting the shrine, Liberal Democratic Party vice-chairman Aisawa, former chairman of the Diet Affairs Committee, held a press convention, saying, “Even among incumbent Diet members, there are very few people who have directly experienced the suffering during and after the war. In 2019, we will be celebrating the 80th anniversary of the end of the war, and we must once again be grateful that there are so many war dead who are the cornerstones of Japan’s peace and prosperity.”
