TOKYO, Nov. 16 (Xinhua) — A automobile crashed right into a barricade close to the Israeli Embassy in Tokyo on Thursday, injuring one police officer, native media reported.
Tokyo police arrested the driving force on the spot on suspicion of obstruction of public order, Kyodo News stated. The driver is in his 50s and believed to be a member of a right-wing group.
Video footage from public broadcaster NHK confirmed that round 11 a.m. native time (GMT 0200), a black compact automobile crashed into the barrier at an intersection roughly 100 meters from the Israeli embassy.
Roads have been cordoned off on the scene. The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the state of affairs.
