Tokyo Sees March Snowfall for First Time in Four Years

TOKYO, Mar 08 (News On Japan) –
Due to the affect of a low-pressure system off Japan’s southern coast, snow started to fall within the Kanto area early Friday morning, leaving Tokyo blanketed in 1cm of snow.

Saitama City recorded a 4cm snow accumulation, and Yokohama City in Kanagawa Prefecture noticed 1cm of snow.

Images across the Imperial Palace at round 6 a.m. confirmed giant snowflakes blurring the encircling surroundings.

Localized thunderstorms are anticipated in Kanto and Hokuriku areas later within the afternoon.

Thunderstorm warnings have already been issued throughout a large space of Honshu, and warning is suggested for sudden climate modifications.
