TOKYO, Feb 29 (News On Japan) –
With the Tokyo Marathon approaching on March third, Asics, the official companion of the occasion, has issued an apology on its web site.
From Asics’ web site: “We have identified a printing error in some of our limited souvenir T-shirts.”
The error includes the phrase “FINISH” on the end line, the place the second letter “I” has been mistakenly printed as “U,” leading to “FUNISH.”
Interestingly, because the typo transforms “FINISH” into “FUN,” social media reactions have been largely constructive. Comments like “Maybe it’s meant to say we should finish with fun?” and “The typo actually adds a unique charm to it!” are frequent.
Asics has said that they’ll provide refunds to those that bought the misprinted T-shirts.
