Taro Kono, the Digital Minister, held a press convention on the National Diet Building on Monday, formally saying his candidacy for the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) management election for the third time.
LDP Digital Minister Taro Kono said, “Restoring trust in politics is an urgent matter. By returning the unreported amounts, I intend to take responsibility and move forward.”
In mild of the faction’s slush fund scandal, Kono declared his intention to press all members who had undisclosed quantities of their political funds steadiness sheets to return these quantities, as a step towards accountability.
