The first spherical of the Kioh Tournament, one of many eight main shogi titles, started on the morning of the 4th in Uozu City, Toyama Prefecture.
At the eve ceremony held on the evening of the third, Sota Fujii Hachikan, who might be defending his title, expressed his dedication, “I wish to do my finest to make this a sport that can convey pleasure to the folks affected by the Noto Peninsula Earthquake.”
