The Barton Opus loved good acoustics on the Hollywood Theatre, based on the Detroit Theatre Organ Society. Lauter, who is also the director of the Detroit Theatre Organ Society and president of the Motor City Theatre Organ Society, says the Hollywood Theatre organ was one of many largest made by the Bartola Musical Instrument Co of Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Only three had been offered, whereas the opposite two had been put in within the Highland Theatre in Chicago and the Rialto Square Theatre in Joliet, Illinois.
Of the three, that is “the final one left that hasn’t been altered,” Smith says.

Steven Ball, an expert organist who taught on the University of Michigan’s Organ Department, requested Przbylski’s widow in 2003 if the pipe organ was on the market.
