For the primary time in three years, the annual “Umemi Tea Ceremony” was held at Shukkeien, a nationwide scenic spot in Hiroshima City, the place the plum blossoms have begun to bloom.
The members loved matcha, which was ready in a solemn ambiance, and yellow-green and yellow Japanese sweets impressed by the surroundings of early spring.
A girl in her 70s who participated stated, “I was looking forward to it because it hadn’t been held for a long time due to the new corona. The tea ceremony was very beautiful.”
A girl in her 30s stated, “I participated in the tea ceremony. After this, I think I’ll go see the plum blossoms in the park.”
The plum blossoms in Shukkeien have been blooming later than regular because of the chilly climate throughout the year-end and New Year holidays.
