Philippines exceeds international vacationer arrival goal for 2023

MANILA, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) — The Philippines has exceeded its goal of 4.8 million international vacationer arrivals for 2023, Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco stated Wednesday.

As of Nov. 27, Frasco stated the Southeast Asian nation has welcomed 4,822,530 worldwide customer arrivals, raking in 404 billion pesos (7.296 billion U.S. {dollars}).

Frasco stated 91.88 % of the whole arrivals have been international guests, whereas 8.12 % have been returning abroad Filipinos.

South Korea stays the nation’s high supply of international arrivals, accounting for 26.37 % of the whole, adopted by the United States (16.53 %), Japan (5.66 %), and China (5.02 %), Frasco stated.

Frasco stated the tourism trade “is the second-highest driver of economic growth,” because the trade has employed round 5.35 million Filipinos.
