Osaka police mistakenly arrest man in revenge porn case

OSAKA, Jul 13 (Japan Today) –
Osaka Prefectural Police revealed this week that they mistakenly arrested a person over a revenge porn case and detained him for 42 days.

The man, who’s in his 20s, was later launched with an apology from the prefectural police, Kyodo News reported. Police stated they now imagine somebody pretended to be the person on social media, threatening to submit sexually specific images of the person’s former girlfriend on-line until she paid him cash.

The lady, who’s in her 20s, consulted with police in late March after receiving revenge porn threats from an nameless supply and studying that indecent images of her had been posted on Instagram.

The photographs had been despatched from a number of accounts. Police stated they suspected the lady’s former boyfriend as a result of a number of the accounts used his surname, and arrested him on April 12 for tried extortion. However, they didn’t test the sender’s IP addresses.
