Osaka cops consider suspect in deadly hit-and-run was fleeing scene of assault – TokyoReporter

OSAKA (TR) – Osaka Prefectural Police have revealed {that a} man arrested following a deadly hit-and-run incident in Fujiidera City earlier this month might have been fleeing the scene of an assault that occurred simply earlier than, studies Mainichi Broadcasting System (Nov. 22).

At round 2:30 a.m. on November 20, a lightweight passenger automobile collided with one other automobile at an intersection in Fujiidera City, killing the motive force, Kazutoshi Kusakabe, a 57-year-old workplace employee from Kashiwara City.

Police later arrested the motive force of the passenger automobile, Akito Yamauchi, 21, from Sayama City, on suspicion of hit-and-run and different offenses.

After the accident, Yamauchi returned to the scene. He informed police that he “panicked because of the accident.”

However, investigators consider {that a} 19-year-old boy who was using with Yamauchi might have been concerned in a separate assault case that occurred in Higashiosaka shortly earlier than and the pair was on the run collectively.

Investigators consider that Yamauchi and the male passenger discarded a knife in a river close to the scene close to the hit-and-run incident.
