Nationwide Search for Yakuza Boss over Starbucks Murder

EHIME, Jan 16 (News On Japan) –
Japan police have issued a nationwide warrant for a yakuza boss suspected of fatally capturing of man in Starbucks in Ehime on Sunday.

The man needed on suspicion of homicide is Yuichiro Maetani, a senior member of the designated violent group, Ikeda-gumi, aged 62.

Maetani is suspected of capturing Yuichiro Ishikawa, 49, within the chest with a pistol whereas Ishikawa was sitting on the terrace of Starbucks in Shikokuchuo, Ehime Prefecture, at round 4:00 PM.

According to investigators, there was a private dispute between Ishikawa and Maetani, who’s reported to have fled on foot whereas nonetheless armed.

Maetani is described as being about 163 cm tall, stocky, with white hair. At the time of the capturing, he was reportedly carrying a purple jumper and beige-like trousers. A particular investigation crew, consisting of about 200 personnel, is tasked with monitoring him down.
