Nagoya zoo mourns lack of ‘100-year-old’ lion

NAGOYA, Jan 05 (News On Japan) –
One of Japan’s most beloved lions, ‘San’, who reached the ripe of age of twenty-two, equal to about 100 human years, has handed away on the Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens in Nagoya.

His physique was found in his den by zookeepers on Wednesday afternoon.

San, who arrived at Higashiyama Zoo in 2005, was well-loved by many guests for his affectionate relationship along with his feminine companion ‘Luna’.
