Jennifer Lopez has filed for divorce from Ben Affleck, U.S. media reported Tuesday, two years after the Hollywood energy couple formally gave love a second probability by tying the knot.
The pair, who have been nicknamed “Bennifer” after they first dated within the frenzied tabloid movie star days of the early 2000s, had rekindled their relationship nearly twenty years later.
But Lopez on Tuesday filed divorce papers at a Los Angeles court docket, Hollywood commerce outlet Variety and movie star gossip web site TMZ mentioned.
A consultant for Lopez declined to remark. Affleck’s publicist didn’t instantly reply to an AFP request for remark.
It was the fourth marriage for pop singer-turned-actress Lopez, 55, and the second for Oscar-winning film star and director Affleck, 52.
The pair first met in 2002 on the set of the broadly panned film “Gigli.” They turned a media sensation as they began relationship and introduced their engagement.
But they postponed their deliberate 2003 nuptials, and introduced their relationship was over in early 2004.
“Bennifer” set the web alight once more in 2021 when photographs of them collectively once more started circulating.
