Japan’s Nikkei ends decrease on weaker heavyweights

TOKYO, July 5 (Xinhua) — Japan’s benchmark Nikkei stock index closed decrease on Wednesday as weak performances by heavyweights barely pulled down the market.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average dropped 83.82 factors, or 0.25 p.c, from Tuesday to shut the day at 33,338.70.

The broader Topix index, in the meantime, misplaced 0.34 factors, or 0.01 p.c, to complete at 2,306.03.

The turnover on the third buying and selling day of the week got here to three.36 trillion yen (23.3 billion U.S. {dollars}).
