Japan tops medal tally at Judo Hungary Masters

BUDAPEST, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) — Japan led the medal rely on the Judo Hungary Masters 2023 on Sunday with 4 golds, forward of France with two golds, and Georgia with one. China secured one bronze and two seventh-place finishes.

Other groups celebrating gold medal victories included Israel, Kosovo, Uzbekistan, Canada, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Finland.

Hungary, internet hosting the occasion, managed a fifth-place end and a seventh-place place.

China’s Xu Shiyan earned a bronze within the girls’s +78kg class by defeating France’s Coralie Hayme, marking her first Masters medal.

In the boys’s division, Ryuju Nagayama of Japan showcased his distinctive approach, clinching the gold within the 60kg class. Mongolia’s Ariunbold Enkhtaivan secured silver.

Japan’s Ryoma Tanaka left a mark within the 66kg class, whereas his compatriot, Soichi Hashimoto, dominated the 73kg bracket. Belgium’s Matthias Casse exhibited brilliance on the mat, capturing gold within the 81kg division.

In the 90kg class, Georgia’s Lasha Bekauri overcame his fellow countryman, Luka Maisuradze. Uzbekistan’s Muzzaffarbek Turoboyev triumphed within the 100kg class.

The heavyweight +100kg closing was a conflict of the titans with Finland’s Martin Puumalainen besting Tajikistan’s Temur Rakhimov.

In the ladies’s division, Japan’s Wakana Koga reigned supreme within the 48kg class. French judoka Amandine Buchard displayed technical mastery, successful gold within the 52kg class. Canada’s Jessica Klimkait left an indelible mark within the 57kg class. Kosovo’s Laura Fazliu dominated the 63kg bracket, whereas the Netherlands’ Sanne van Dijke proved unmatched within the 70kg class.

Israel’s Inbar Lanir emerged victorious within the 78kg division, whereas Romane Dicko of France showcased her mettle by successful gold within the +78kg class.

Kicking off on August 4, the Hungary Masters drew 419 opponents from 59 nations and areas.
