He was recognized as 54-year-old Taniguchi, the supervisor of a personal therapeutic massage parlor, and is amongst 9 folks arrested on suspicion of illegally soliciting prospects for prostitution on the streets of Gotanda, Tokyo.
The arrests adopted mounting complaints from native residents, with one individual reporting, “They keep pestering people, and the crowd is scary!” According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police, there have been 134 calls associated to buyer solicitation within the Gotanda space since January 2024.
The suspects allegedly approached passersby with pitches comparable to, “How about a massage? One suspect, 42-year-old Song, reportedly instructed investigators, “I would call out to more than 10 people a day, and about five would agree.” Most of the ladies offering providers had been Chinese nationals, and the enterprise operated with out signage to keep away from detection.
Police estimate the parlor had earned roughly 350 million yen since 2023. Six of the 9 suspects, together with Taniguchi, admitted to the fees, saying they had been doing it to make a dwelling. The remaining three have denied the allegations.
