Honda’s WN7 electrical bike has obtained the Gold Award within the Product Design self-discipline on the iF DESIGN AWARD, marking the primary time a Honda product has achieved this honor. The iF DESIGN AWARD is among the most prestigious design competitions globally, recognized for recognizing excellence in varied design disciplines.
The WN7 is Honda’s inaugural electrical bike within the FUN class, developed beneath the idea of ‘Be the Wind.’ This mannequin is a part of Honda’s broader initiative to contribute to a carbon-neutral society. The bike encompasses a frameless construction, with the battery case serving because the physique body, permitting for a light-weight design and versatile structure.
With a most output of fifty kW, the WN7 is similar to a 600 cc inner combustion engine (ICE) bike, whereas its most torque of 100 Nm rivals that of a 1000 cc class ICE bike. This ensures a strong but clean efficiency, appropriate for each metropolis using and freeway cruising.
The design of the WN7 goals to ‘refine performance and understand the essence of motorbike design,’ that includes seamless surfaces for rider contact and a particular silhouette. Its signature headlight contains an iconic horizontal bar design, complemented by a black physique with gold accents.

Toshinobu Minami, Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of Honda R&D Co., Ltd.’s Design Center, expressed honor at receiving the Gold Award. He emphasised the jury’s recognition of the WN7’s new worth within the period of electrification, specializing in the enjoyment of using freely. Minami acknowledged that Honda will proceed to create revolutionary values that shock and encourage, increasing the potential of individuals’s lives.
