China rejects Japan's protest over Diaoyu Islands

BEIJING, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) — A Chinese international ministry spokesperson mentioned on Wednesday that China doesn’t settle for Japan’s protest as Japan calls for the retraction of a Chinese authorities map that exhibits the Diaoyu Islands belong to China.

“Diaoyu Dao and its affiliated islands have all along been China’s territory. It is only natural that they are marked as Chinese territory on a map,” spokesperson Mao Ning mentioned at an everyday news briefing.

Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno has criticized the discharge of the map that exhibits what Japan calls the Senkaku Islands and what China calls the Diaoyu Islands belonging to China. Matsuno mentioned that Japan had complained to China by diplomatic channels and demanded the retraction of that map.
