One of the signature occasions of the National Cherry Blossom Festival takes place Saturday: The National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade. There shall be balloons, floats, marching bands, celebrities and performers.

The following streets shall be closed to car visitors on Saturday, April 13, 2024 from roughly 9 a.m. to 4 p.m..:

Sakura Matsuri Festival

Also on Saturday, in addition to Sunday, is Sakura Matsuri, introduced by the Japan-America Society of D.C. It’s deemed the “largest celebration of Japanese culture in the United States.”

Admission is $15 earlier than the competition dates, and $20 on the day of. The competition runs from 10:30 a.m. to six p.m. on Saturday and from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. It’s positioned on Pennsylvania Avenue Northwest between third and seventh streets.

D.C. police introduced the next roads shall be posted as emergency no parking and closed to car visitors from Friday at 7 p.m. to Sunday at 11:59 p.m.
