Mitsubishi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Group, has obtained an order from Hitachi Zosen Marine Engine Co., Ltd. for its MAmmoSS® ammonia gas dealing with system. The order is a part of efforts to align with world decarbonization targets within the delivery trade.
The MAmmoSS® system is designed to be suitable with ammonia marine engines from main licensors Everllence SE and WinGD. It shall be delivered to Hitachi Zosen Marine Engine’s facility for store testing of each licensors’ engines. The system contains an Ammonia Fuel Supply System and an Ammonia Gas Abatement System, together with management tools.
As the International Maritime Organization’s Marine Environment Protection Committee continues to push for lowered greenhouse gasoline emissions, ammonia has emerged as a possible next-generation marine gas attributable to its lack of CO2 emissions when burned. However, its toxicity necessitates efficient dealing with expertise, which is predicted to extend demand for techniques like MAmmoSS®.
Mitsubishi Shipbuilding plans to proceed growing secure and dependable ammonia-fueled vessel merchandise to assist market growth and improve performance to fulfill numerous buyer wants.
