HOKKAIDO (TR) – Hokkaido Prefectural Police have arrested a Russian man for shoplifting butter at a grocery store in Nemuro City, reviews Nippon News Network (July 22).
At round 5:10 p.m. on July 21, the Russian, who claims to be a deckhand, allegedly shoplifted eight containers of butter on the grocery store in Taishocho.
The butter has a complete retail worth of three,006 yen, police mentioned.
The suspect doesn’t communicate Japanese. Upon his arrest, he mentioned via an interpreter, “I didn’t steal it. I had a headache and couldn’t pay.”
After the alleged theft, a retailer worker, who witnessed the crime, adopted the Russian outdoors the shop and apprehended him.
The Russian was in possession of roughly 160,000 yen on the time of his apprehension.
Police are presently investigating the circumstances that led to the incident.
