Japan to Review Dangerous Driving Law

TOKYO, Feb 11 (News On Japan) –
Justice Minister Suzuki has referred a proposal to the Legislative Council for a revision of Japan’s harmful driving inflicting loss of life or damage regulation.

Suzuki said, “This review seeks to establish regulations for three specific actions under the dangerous driving causing death or injury law.”

The transfer follows criticism that the regulation shouldn’t be utilized in extreme instances, resembling when drivers exceed pace limits considerably. Families of accident victims have raised issues over the paradox of enforcement requirements.

The Legislative Council will now debate whether or not to introduce particular numerical standards for harmful driving, together with exceeding authorized pace limits and driving with a blood alcohol focus above the authorized threshold.
