OITA, Dec 16 (News On Japan) –
In preparation for the New Year, Oita Prefecture’s Kenkokujinja Shrine has unveiled one among Japan’s largest hamaya (conventional arrow talismans) and kumade (ornamental rakes).
The big hamaya, designed to thrust back evil spirits, measures roughly 19 meters in size and weighs a staggering 1.8 tons. The shrine is ready to carry out its annual principal corridor cleansing on December twenty fifth to welcome the New Year.
